MREA Energy Fair 2008
I went to the MREA Energy Fair yesterday with my friend Chris. It was really great to see so many people excited about renewable energy, conservation, and green living. Here are some photos :

I’d like to check this out some time. Some of my family went last year, it sounds interesting.
Did you hear that John McCain wants to offer a $300 million prize for anyone who can design a car battery that allows X number of miles in travel? (sorry I didn’t catch all the details). Was anyone at this energy fair close to having a really good, feasible electric car? By the way….I’m one who thinks we simply need to design places such that we drive less…..I’m believe more in conservation than I do whiz-bang technology to bail us out of this energy crisis….

Jeff,
The fair is great. Definitely worth a visit some time!
It sounds like battery technology is getting pretty good. A123 Systems and Altair Nano are both working on batteries that charge much faster and have better energy density than today’s options. I think the main hurdle now is make them commercially viable at scale. We’ll see!
Agree to your last point 100%. The most efficient car is the one that’s never driven!
